Reviews Of My Presentations

Speaker Testimonials

Passion. Knowledge. Dedication. These are just a few of the words attendees use to describe Andy Dennis and his talks about Médicins Sans Frontières (MSF) and their global impact. As a dedicated fundraiser for MSF, Andy not only provides insight into the organization’s monumental role in the world, but he also inspires individuals to take action and contribute to the cause. Dive into the reviews below to discover how Andy’s presentations have moved, educated, and empowered audiences.

Andy spoke to the Harrogate U3A Open Meeting in March 2024, outlining MSF’s work and sharing his fundraising adventures. He kept an audience of 150 Yorkshire pensioners entranced for an hour. We were in awe of MSF’s work and thoroughly enjoyed the tales and photos of his travels, told with humour in a lovely self-deprecating style. His passion and commitment shone through.

It was a very worthwhile session, and the very generous donations at the end confirmed the audience’s appreciation.

Dear Andy,

Thank you very much for attending our meeting last evening and giving us such an informative talk about your fundraising exploits for MSF.

It was good listening to you. Our members were very animated and interested in your cycling achievements. You’re a great speaker! You enlightened everyone present about MSF’s fantastic work.

I’ve had nothing but positive feedback from all who attended.

Thank you again for giving up your time to speak to us.

Andy has been a speaker at Follifoot Women’s Institute three times in the past few years. It is very unusual for us to book the same speaker more than once, and so the fact that we have booked Andy three times is in itself testimony to how interesting his presentations are. In all my dealings with Andy I have found him to be very professional and organised, responding promptly to email enquiries during the booking process, and arriving on the night with everything that he needed, (even down to bringing his own extension cable!).

On his most recent visit to our WI, Andy began by giving us some background information about the work of MSF, illustrated by slides showing relevant facts and figures about the organisation, and he then went on to tell us about his own very personal experiences of working on four MSF missions in Sudan, Uganda and Sierra Leone. The main part of the presentation was about Andy’s incredible fundraising activities since his last mission, covering ‘Walk A To B’ in 2011, ‘Trans America Bike Ride’ in 2016 and with a focus on his most recent challenge ‘Ride To The Rock’ in 2022, a gruelling cycling adventure taking him and his partner Tracy  from Amsterdam to Gibraltar during an unprecedented heat wave and with many adventures along the way.

Although Andy’s talk covers very serious and sometimes even harrowing subjects, he delivers his material in a very gentle manner, and with an appropriate level of self-deprecating humour. The talk is illustrated with slides showing beautiful scenery and wildlife, but the viewer is never allowed to forget the real reason behind the adventure.

I wholeheartedly recommend Andy as a speaker for any organisation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to come and present to the Harlow Friendship Group.

Your talk was informative, interesting and very enjoyable.  You presented a difficult subject sympathetically and with a hint of humour.

Looking round the room everyone was listening intently to your talk.

The feedback was excellent – everyone had a very interesting afternoon and will be looking forward to your talk on your fundraising efforts.

Thank you so much for your visit.

Thank you again for your insight into MSF and humanitarian aid work. It was interesting to hear your perspective and we all learnt a lot from today! We hope to stay in touch with you and perhaps meet again in the future.

As I might have mentioned this is usually £50 for an online talk. However, your talk made such an impact that our Council agreed to donate £200 and we will be paying this into your just giving page imminently-if not already.

Thank you for your time and for the magnificent work you do.

We just wanted to say from Student’s without Borders Krakow: thank you very much for the talk, it was very interesting, we really appreciate your perspective and we have already received positive feedback from students 🙂

Thank you so much for coming to do the talk.

It was brilliant, there was great feedback. It’s such a great thing that MSF do. We also raised £90 for much needed funds. Ive not read your book yet but I’m looking forward to reading it.

Best wishes and good luck with future endeavours.
