Over the last few weeks I have been plotting and planning with Richard McTague from Redhouse Originals and we are extremely proud to announce a fundraising Art Raffle in aid of Doctors Without Borders. This is a remarkable chance to own an original piece of art from a prestigious artist. It will also raise a lot of money for MSF so whats not to like.
A host of leading names from the world of art and music have contributed artwork to the raffle, with all pieces set to go on public display in Harrogate for a month from 23rd February 2015. Artists featured include Goldie, Gered Mankowitz, Horace Panter, Dudley Edwards, Pete McKee, Peter Doherty, David Rusbatch, Ian Skelly (The Coral), Pete Smith (Live Aid) and The Studio of Ezra.
The artworks will appear here on Thursday 12th February 2015. To register your interest or pre-order raffle tickets please email us here or call the gallery direct on +44 (0)1423 884400.
The project was inspired by Andy Dennis, a friend of the gallery who has just returned from Sierra Leone where he was working with MSF to help the fight against Ebola. MSF is an international medical humanitarian organisation providing aid in nearly 80 countries. It operates free of any political, military, or religious agendas, bringing impartial assistance to those most in need.
Andy: “At the end of 2014 I worked for four weeks in the Ebola Management Centre in Kailahun, Sierra Leone. There were many tragedies in this time but also many beautiful successes. I have looked into the eyes of frightened and sick people and I know that without Médecins Sans Frontières many of them would have suffered and died alone. I am proud to work for an organisation that says that this is not acceptable and steps up to be counted where and when they are most needed.”
The gallery has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the artists who have contributed to the raffle. RedHouse Originals is honoured to work with Médecins Sans Frontières and excited to offer the public the opportunity to own an original work of art by a leading international artist whilst supporting this amazing cause.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to Médecins Sans Frontières.
