Last Friday it was my great pleasure to speak to the sixth form of Ripon Grammar School. I gave a brief presentation about the work of Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

“Andy came to deliver an assembly at Ripon Grammar School to inform our Sixth Formers about the work of MSF. The students decided to undertake a week of fundraising activities for MSF, and Andy’s presentation was truly inspiring. He skillfully blended personal anecdotes with informative clips, which really brought the charity’s work to life. His presentation was visually and emotionally engaging, shifting the students’ perspective on healthcare. They not only learned about issues such as Ebola and how climate affects disease but were also encouraged to think about the political and ideological challenges faced by an organisation operating in conflict zones. Remarkably, Andy managed to fit all of this into 20 minutes, expertly pitching the content to 16-18-year-olds. It was a wonderful morning that staff and students will not soon forget”.
