After doing all the housekeeping stuff like washing, today has been great. I like Paris a lot. It is an interesting and important city and I could never be bored here.

We went to see Tijana and Marie Charlotte at the MSF office. They were brilliant. They have not only held boxes for me but also sorted a place for us to stay and were friendly and helpful when we went to see them. Thank you guys – very much.

We spent the rest of the day visiting the sights- Eiffel tower, Sacre Coeur, Arc de Triumph among others. We also made time to relax at street cafes and drink some lovely wine.

I like to think I am pretty switched on when I’m travelling but sometimes my stupidity amazes me. We were at the tower when this woman comes over pointing at a piece of paper and gesticulating. It said she was a deaf mute and was asking for help- financial type of course. I had my doubts but still coughed up 2€. 5 minutes later a whole bunch of these deaf mutes came past chatting. For Gods sake! I was hopping up and down going “you’re talking and she’s listening”!

As my pal Jo says, “dignity always dignity”.
