As many of you will be aware, in May 2016 Tracey and I will be heading to the USA on a self funded unsupported bike ride of 4000 miles from San Francisco to New York. We are saving like demons for the trip and fully intend to pay for every aspect ourselves.

The one thing that we are asking for help with is flights. We have been unable to secure any support from airlines though there is one remaining long shot.

If anyone knows someone in a position of influence in the airline industry and is willing to advocate for us/put me in touch with a decision maker, I would be very grateful.

I have briefly looked into the idea of people transferring airmiles but as I understand it they can only be given institutionally and not to individuals.

We will need to book our flights very soon as prices go up so there is a time imperative on this.
