Today I went back to the gym with Tracey as we continue to train towards the Ride to the Rock bike ride for Doctors Without Borders.
I ended up facing a large mirror whilst exercising. I avoid my own reflection as in my eyes, I look ridiculous. I did however appreciate the personal journey each individual is making and how they drive themselves on regardless of ‘ability’.
I got to thinking about our trans-USA ride and it’s many challenges and many rewards. We are lucky to have our health and be able to carry out these physical undertaking’s for MSF.
We will be testing ourselves once again from May and I can hardly wait. If the journey itself wasn’t enough motivation, the news each day certainly is. As Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) upscale their role in Ukraine, they need every bit of support they can get. The humanitarian crisis is already immense and will only increase. Supporting this cause empowers me at a time when I could easily feel demoralised.
