Sometimes I give up on myself! I guess in my defence I have had a lot on over the last few weeks. That said I don’t normally forget that a week begins with Monday.
Tracey and I decided we were going to stay at camp sites in this first week or two before we hit the wild camping big time after Paris. I carefully booked our stays in most places though we have a couple of days leading up to Paris in the woods. We got to Thursday last week and I realised I had started the week with a Tuesday booking totally omitting the Monday night . I called the De Grone Waard site and asked them if we could arrive on the Monday and they were fine with it. This gave us an extra day to explore the area around and specifically the ancient city of Gorinchem 30 mins cycling south of the site.
We had a nice day exploring the city and enjoyed the historic sites as well as the coffee.
We also carried out an interview with Kim from the ‘The Bulletin’. It was nice to connect with this English language magazine with a monthly readership of 150,000 unique readers. They have been around since 1962 and mostly serve the large expat community in Brussels.
All in all , a good day, we are back on the road tomorrow.
