On Thursday 17th August I was at Knaresbrough Library to deliver a presentation about the Ebola outbreak and to talk about mine and Dr Anna Simon’s book Ebola : Behind the Mask.
Around 70 people came to this talk which is an absolutely amazing turnout for a Thursday evening.
I spoke for about an hour exploring subjects such as the various contexts in which MSF work, my experiences during the Ebola outbreak and finally the ongoing fundraising project.
There was no admission charge but Deborah Thornton who did an absolutely fantastic job of arranging the evening asked for donations to Médecins Sans Frontières. The response was remarkable, over £320 was raised for MSF.
I would like to thank everyone who attended the presentation and thereby supported Doctors Without Borders. If I may I would like to specifically thank my friends Amy and Andy for bringing me to the Library and helping me set up and pack away. They also took the great photos you see above.
If anyone was unable to attend and would like a copy of the book, it can be purchased HERE.
If you wish to organise a talk for your group or society please get in touch via [email protected] there is no formal charge but a donation to MSF is appreciated.

Sorry I missed the talk, Andy – it looks like you coped admirably though. Hats off to you for undertaking such a noble cause.
