Well the threatened rain hasn’t arrived, not yet anyway we are in the early stages of this morning‘s ride and we’ve cycled around 12 miles into Sens . Here we marvelled at the beautiful Saint Stephen’s Cathedral and had a coffee in the centre before heading out of town again. The centre of the city seems to be coming alive after the weekend and Sunday which is most definitely still a day of rest in France.

The rain caught up with us shortly after I wrote that paragraph , I clearly jinxed us !
After Sens we met 2 lovely lovely Brits on the road. Lara and Max are cycling from Italy to London. They are raising money for “Smiles with Grace”. You can read more about this cause and their cycle challenge here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/italy2city . A small donation would also be Amazing.

After this lovely meeting we carried on another 7-8 miles before we were caught in more rain, when it eased we decided to call it a day and pitched our tent in some woods. We managed to get it all sorted just before it poured down again.
It is very beautiful here. The birds are singing and the rain is tapping on the fly. It’s only 2030 but I’ll be going to sleep soon.
