Burlesque Without Borders Banner

Well, what to say, Burlesque Without Borders No 7 was remarkable. It was a success in every way. The audience as always made the night. A rowdy rabble at the best of times they were enthusiastic, supportive, good humoured and extremely generous.

I began the night with a short presentation about MSF and of course a mention of the Alzheimer’s Society, the joint beneficiary of the nights fundraising. During this talk I asked the audience to consider making a donation by text to get the night off to a good start. £220 was donated in about 2 minutes – what a crowd!

Snappy O’Shea then took over and ran the night like a dream. She introduced our band the Leeds City Stompers who went down a storm and had people up and dancing right from the start.

The rest of the night was one wonderful Burlesque performer after another. I can’t review each performance, but I can say that each one of the artists has further cemented Burlesque Without Borders reputation as the BEST Burlesque night in the region (at least).

The very least I can do is offer my thanks tho the performers for everything they have done for MSF and the Alzheimer’s Society, these lovely people were :

Adrian Salamon – Magician

Eliza Beau

Poppy Pout

Hazarah

Sir Midnight Blues

Snow de la Flake

The Honey B’s

You were all amazing. Thank you.

I want to pass on my thanks to a few other very important people before announcing the total raised.

Without the following the night simply doesn’t happen. They also need a mention to illustrate what goes into making the magic of Burlesque Without Borders so thank you to:

Pete McGeever – Audio visuals

Sara and Amanda – the best Cupcakes in the land

Greg, Claire and the Spa Town Roller Girls who flogged raffle tickets like demons

Bev and Nadine who let everyone in the room in the first place

Bev’s Knockers which deserve a line to themselves!

Mr la Belle who reserve Butlered as well as running the Tom-bola and lots besides

Sir Cumference AKA Josh our wonderful Butler

MediaCake Videographers who record the night to keep the memories alive

Laurie of Stage Zero Photography for his wonderful pics and careful editing to minimise my humiliation – (thanks in advance Laurie)

All of the lovely Stall holders who brought some fantastic wares with them and I hope left with less

and of course the staff at the Manhattan.

Biggest thanks as ever to Lily la Belle who spends literally months sorting the night. It is a huge amount of work but she makes it happen every time. a lot of people have benefitted from Burlesque Without Borders takings and you can be very proud of this Lily  – Thank you.

Ok so the total…… If I could do a drum roll here I would, this has been the biggest success so far :

Nothing to add to that except thank you all once again and Im going for a cup of tea.
