Just over a week ago and for the first time in six years, Burlesque Bonanza took place at The Ivory in Harrogate raising money for Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders.
This show was produced by my great friend Rach Burrows and my new friend Foxie Gingerella & what a job they did!
Each of the performers that you see above was absolutely amazing and captivated what was a fantastic and responsive audience.
A week earlier, it was looking like we may have to cancel the show due to poor ticket sales. However, in the week leading up to the 21st, ticket sales surged and we ended up with a sellout! What do you do?
Everything about this night was special, I felt an immense warmth towards Médecins Sans Frontières from every single performer as they gave their all to the show. This was reflected by everyone that came to watch. Each performance was enthusiastically & loudly appreciated.
So, here's the thing. it was of course about having fun but also about raising money and boy did it raise money. So, here we go with a written drum roll:
Absolutely astounding and above all, LIFE CHANGING for people we will never know but who deserve a chance at a future.
