Fantastic walk from Brussels down to Clabecq. I was worried about the blister on my heel but changing to boots today has sorted it.

The weather is back to sunny and warm which is perfect. We arrived in Clabecq about 1730 and found the woods I had located on the map. Got everything set up and a filling tea of rice noodles, corn and olives with tasty bread. We have a bottle of wine for later (any fool can be uncomfortable).

Passing through Clabecq we called at the commonwealth war cemetery and visited the graves of 3 Royal Engineers. This place wasn’t always as peaceful and quiet as it is today.

It’s a beautiful spring evening and in the woods the birds are singing as the light of the evening shines through the oak leaves . I feel very fortunate.
