Andy spoke to the Harrogate U3A Open Meeting in March 2024, outlining MSF's work and sharing his fundraising adventures. He kept an audience of 150 Yorkshire pensioners entranced for an hour. We were in awe of MSF's work and thoroughly enjoyed the tales and photos of his travels, told with humour in a lovely self-deprecating style. His passion and commitment shone through.
It was a very worthwhile session, and the very generous donations at the end confirmed the audience's appreciation.

I am Andy Dennis, intensive care staff nurse at Harrogate District Hospital and humanitarian volunteer with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). I have served on missions in Uganda, South Sudan and Sierra Leone.
I now bring those first hand experiences to audiences across Yorkshire, helping your members connect with global health, humanitarian aid and why it matters.
Andy came to deliver an assembly at Ripon Grammar School to inform our Sixth Formers about the work of MSF. The students decided to undertake a week of fundraising activities for MSF, and Andy's presentation was truly inspiring. He skillfully blended personal anecdotes with informative clips, which really brought the charity’s work to life. His presentation was visually and emotionally engaging, shifting the students' perspective on healthcare. They not only learned about issues such as Ebola and how climate affects disease but were also encouraged to think about the political and ideological challenges faced by an organisation operating in conflict zones. Remarkably, Andy managed to fit all of this into 20 minutes, expertly pitching the content to 16-18-year-olds. It was a wonderful morning that staff and students will not soon forget.
