I have entered a strange new world, a world of Top tubes, False flats, Bell cranks and Nipple adjustments (context : spokes). In short I am learning about cycling and bikes. Thus far I have hopped on and hopped off , gleefully handing over my bike to an expert to sort any problems. This situation has come to a grinding halt as I plan the unsupported Trans-US ride now known as Bike Without Borders. I have to be able to fix things myself and so the process begins.
It may be partly due to the minor cycling competition about to take place in the Harrogate area but everywhere I look and every conversation I have at the moment is about bikes.
There are some amazing developments taking place at the moment with the plans for the 2016 ride. I will post more on these as things are finalised. Suffice to say, the list of people I owe becomes ever larger .
The pictures above were taken in and around Aloi Camp and Lira in North Uganda. The fella at the top is transporting a bed on his bike. There are no children’s bikes so the kids learn to cycle on adult bikes and put their little leg through the frame.
So there we are, Im off to contemplate adjusting my nipples now. Have a nice day.
