Today was a big day for us. After six years we are back on our touring bikes. A couple of months ago, Rob at Pedalheads Bike Shop in Knaresbrough gave them a full service after we finally took them out of storage. Its totally mad that we haven’t used them for so long . It almost makes our trans-USA ride look like aversion therapy! It wasn’t , life just overtook us and we did different things for fundraising.
Now as we move towards the 2000 mile Ride to the Rock for Doctors Without Borders, we are back in the saddle.
We had an absolutely lovely day cycling from Starbeck to Ripon to go to Moonglu bike shop. We are having new wheels built with integral dynamos for charging our kit on the go. This is a big investment for us but as Tracey said, it’s about our quality of life and ability to remain connected to you as we travel.
It was a beautiful day to ride, we passed through some magnificent scenery, lovely little villages and quiet back roads. It is good to be reminded what a glorious area we live in and as we plan for travel , we appreciate home that bit more.
