I would like to extend endless gratitude to the kind individual who has anonymously donated £1000 to MSF this morning.
I remember on my first mission in Uganda many years ago, I came back from 5 days in displaced persons camps to a meeting at our base in Yambio. At the meeting, I proposed purchasing an item for the clinics. After an in-depth discussion, the team as a whole decided that (I quote) they “didn’t feel that the item represented good enough value for donor’s money”. At the time I was of course frustrated as I hadn’t got what I wanted, however, I realised later on what an incredible testimony this was to my colleagues and the ethos of Médecins Sans Frontières.
