I hardly know where to start with this post. I think the best place is with lots of thanks. The Redhouse Art Raffle for MSF concluded last night. One month of very hard work for a lot of people. One month of extreme generosity from yet more people. Thank you to Richard and Jon from Redhouse for coming up with the idea and making it all happen. They have essentially put their business on hold for a month to do something amazing for MSF.
Thank you to the lovely team at Bean & Bud who not only sold tickets for the event but hosted the draw and made everyone feel very welcome. What a special place this is.
Thank you to David Rusbatch a fine artist, lovely guy and creator/donor of “Always” one of the pictures that was raffled who came along for the evening.
Very special thanks to the marvellous Dudley and Madeline Edwards who are the kindest people you could hope to meet. Dudley donated “Ringo’s Mural” and also gave his time to draw the raffle.
We were about half way through the draw when the most lovely thing happened, a ticket was drawn and the winner was in the room. Everyone celebrated for this lucky lady and it was so nice to see her face when she realised that she had won.
Winners who were not able to be at the draw will be notified soonest, prizes will be heading to London and Holland to name but a couple of destinations.
So, here we are, what it was all about, the money that will be going to MSF in order to fund their work in over 60 countries around the world. I am incredibly happy to report that the Redhouse Art Raffle for MSF raised £5371 (including donations made on the night of the draw). To put this in some form perspective, that money would buy an operating table and operating lights for an MSF surgical team in places such as Syria.
Richard and Jon have kindly agreed to my adding this total to the walka2b project funds and as a result current fundraising of this project is £50,207. This is the result of so much hard work by so many people and I am grateful to you all. We carry on, next stop: Burlesque Without Borders 9 on 11th April, come and celebrate with us and raise even more for Doctors Without Borders. Have a look HERE for details.
