World Hunger – Facts, Stats & Shameful Foreign Policy

Recently, I was contacted by a very nice lady called Debbie Gant. Debbie was kind enough to read a recent post I wrote about hunger and nutrition in  South Sudan. She recommended an extremely well written and nicely formatted blog about world hunger as a potential follow on.

I would like to recommend the article to you. It is particularly relevant at the moment as the UK Government policy of decimating its aid budget is going to adversely impact the poorest people.

The decision o the Govt to spend 80% less on food aid than it did pre-COVID is shameful in the extreme. It certainly brings into question the whole “force for good”claim made by UK Foreign Sec Dominic Raab in September 19. I see nothing good about exacerbating starvation and misery.
